Human Misery is too great for men to do without faith

Faith a five lettered word which probably evokes innumerable responses in people. The dictionary defines faith as “a belief that is not based on proof.”

For some it is an act of mental destruction accepting something which has no evidence is irrational. For some it is the very basis of their existence.

Goswami Tulsidasji has written in his epic work RamcharitManas:"Parvati Shankarau Vande, Shraddha Viswas Rupinau"
Meaning, “Lord Shankar is (the symbol of) trust and Goddess Bhavani is (the symbol of) faith. The realisation of God is possible only by the worship of both (trust and faith).”

Anyways we are not here to discuss the attainment of God through faith or other superhuman connotations attributed to the word.

Faith is something which lets you sleep peacefully in the night. It can be faith in yourself, your friends, and your loved ones and yes faith in the almighty. It is the belief that when you wake up the next morning these people will still be there for you .It is the belief that even if something has gone wrong, the future still holds promises.
Faith is what keeps you going when everything and everyone else has deserted you. Faith is what makes a family of slum dwellers living in the suburbs of Mumbai smile, laugh, and celebrate festivals.

When a couple decides to bring a child in this world full of hate, misery, wars and discrimination, it is faith in the basic goodness of humans which gives them courage to take this decision.
The world tests you at every step in your life and if you lose faith, you lose the will to survive. To conclude
Miracles are not contradictions of nature. They are only in contradiction of what we know of nature.
- St. Augustine

An ode to the mighty oceans

Came across some interesting lines about the sea in The Economist .…..
Roll on, thou deep and dark blue Ocean –roll!
Ten thousand fleets sweep over thee in vain;
Man marks the earth with ruin – his control
Stops with the shore
Byron
I tell you naught for your comfort,
Yea naught for your desire,
Save that the sky grows darker yet
And the sea rises higher.
G.K. Chesterton

Sad were my thoughts that anchor’d silently
On the dead waters of that passionless sea
Unstirr’d by any touch of living breath:
Silence hung over it, and drowsy Death,
Like a gorged seabird, slept with folded wings
On crowded carcasses – sad passive things

Autumn is coming but do the flowers regret it?

We have spread cheer

We have made the child who gave a flower to his teacher happy,

We warmed the heart of a girl whose lover gifted her a rose,

True ,that in a couple of days we will die,

Our petals will fall on the ground ,

The stem will wilt away.

But we have no regrets we have lived

a beautiful life

a meaningful life :)

Tug-of-War

Human mind is a battle field
A constant tussle goes on between emotions and logic
Both sides try to outdo each other
One says I am right, the other says I am
Both give reasons equally valid
Whose side should I take?
Which one of them is right I know not!
I am confused, it’s complex like a spiders’ web
And the harder I try to come out of it the deeper I keep going inside the mesh.
Whether I’ll come out of it alive or dead like a poor fly
Only time will tell.

Banda Yeh Bindaas hai!

This is one of my favourite songs these days. There is a line which goes like this " Kya bura hai aur kya kharab hai ,sirf jeene ka hisaab hai" and how true. There is nothing which is absolutely right or wrong ,it all depends on your perceptions and interpretations. But often we tend to judge people based on our views ,our way of living ,our moral standards. What we forget that there is no one way of laughing, crying ,eating, wearing clothes and most importantly living. And in this process of judging others we lose sight of their real self ,our real self and end up living our lives according to somebody else's view of us ,of the world.

So live your life as you want because " na kuch bura hai aur na kuch kharab hai."

Why blogging

When you are away from people with whom you could actually talk,a no holds barred kind of conversation ,then suddenly this urge to write increase.Probably human mind cannot afford to keep the innumerable thoughts we come across everyday else we all will be driven to insanity.
This feeling of wanting to share your thoughts or rather throw them out of your system is my reason behind starting this blog.

The Side effects of being considered rational

Sometimes it feels good to be stupid, behaving like a child. But when you are considered as a rational person, people believe that you will act rationally ,think rationally even when you are a emotional wreck. You have to be calm, composed, quiet when all you want to do is cry, shout and break a few skulls. It is dehumanizing at its best.I guess it is like putting someone on a pedestal to worship but alas! Gods don't have the luxuries of being human.
